Balfour is on parole and spent nearly seven years in prison for attempted murder, vehicular hijacking and possession of a stolen vehicle. The Illinois Department of Corrections' records reveal one of Balfour's addresses to be the home where Donerson and Jason Hudson were murdered.

On October 27, 2008, the body of a young boy was found in a 1994 Chevrolet Suburban parked on a street in Chicago's West Side area. The license plate and the vehicle's description matched that of the AMBER Alert. The FBI later confirmed the body was of Julian King.On October 29, 2008, autopsy reports from the Cook County Medical Examiner's office indicated that Julian King was killed due to "multiple gunshot wounds".

Hudson's family announced a foundation for families of murder victims. The Hudson-King Foundation for Families of Slain Victims was named in honor of Hudson's mother, brother and nephew.

On October 31, 2008, Chicago police Superintendent Jody Weis confirmed the murder weapon was found in West Side vacant lot in the neighborhood. Funeral services for the victims are set for November 3, while private service will be held at Chicago's South Side Apostolic Church of God."

Naruto Shippuuden Episode 82: "Team 10"

A funeral is held for Asuma, but Shikamaru does not attend. Instead he wanders aimlessly around the village and sulks at home. After careful prodding by his father during a game of Shogi, Shikamaru lets out all the pain, anger and fear built up inside him. After working through his emotions, he comes up with a strategy to defeat Asuma's killers, Hidan and Kakuzu. Shikamaru then gathers Team 10 for a personal visitation of Asuma's grave. Early in the next morning, Team 10 sets out for revenge, but Tsunade stops them. She tells them that they are fools and that they need a four-man squad and backup. Kakashi then volunteers as the leader when it becomes clear Team 10 has no intentions of backing down.
